What to watch

A last-minute change switched the opponent that Devils Lake girls’ basketball will face on Saturday. Originally scheduled to play Beulah at 5 p.m., the Firebirds will now play Kindred at 2 p.m. Devils Lake JV will step in to play Beulah instead. Kindred should be a tougher opponent, with a 9-3 record compared to Beulah’s 1-8.

The reason for the change was Turtle Mountain Community High School stepping out, presumably due to weather.

FW/M will play Watford City at Devils Lake Sports Center at 3:30 p.m., as previously scheduled.

New Rockford-Sheyenne girls’ basketball is on the road at 2 p.m. against Washburn.

No. 4 Devils Lake boys’ basketball, after its thrilling win over No. 2 Grafton, was supposed to play on the road at TMCHS, but that game was postponed as well.

Lake Region State also saw a handful of postponements. The men’s hockey rematch at home against MSUM, which was supposed to happen on Saturday, was rescheduled for Feb. 22. The women’s hockey team was supposed to play games at Assiniboine Community College on Saturday and Sunday, but that trip has now been postponed. The men’s and women’s basketball games scheduled for Sunday afternoon against Williston State College were also postponed. With temperatures well below zero and the wind chill even colder than that, the icy road conditions are forcing these programs to take caution.

Devils Lake girls’ hockey, following its big win over West Fargo United, is set to play on the road against Fargo Davies at noon on Saturday.
