The Devils Lake JV girls basketball team snagged first place at the Lake Region Invitational Girls’ Basketball Tournament. The tournament was 3 days, from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, at the Devils Lake Sports Center. The Firebirds beat teams such as North Star and Benson County Wildcats (who came in second).
The Firebirds also won other tournament awards during the competition. Ava Beck won the All-Tournament Team award. MVP was awarded to Tylie Brodina.
Other schools that participated included Larimore, Dunseith (who came in third), Griggs County Midkota (who came in fifth), and Park River Fordville Lankin.
