Royals Athletics announces that Laurence Arango has accepted the Head Baseball Coach position at Lake Region State College. He will start August 1.
Arango, of Stamford, Conn., is currently the manager for the Stamford Thunder Babe Ruth League. He served as the associate scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks from 1996-1998 in the New England Area.
“I loved hearing about Laurence’s vision for the program and how that was going to translate onto the field and how that was going to look,” said LRSC Athletic Director Jared Marshall.
Arango played at Allentown College of St. Francis DeSales before moving on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Connecticut. He also played in American Legion Baseball & Summer Wood Bat Leagues in the New England & New York Area.
“Having a background in business and coaching, Laurence has really worked with a diverse group of people and that will serve him well in his new role.”
