High school football news

Devils Lake senior center Casey Brown has committed to play football at the University of Jamestown, he announced on social media Tuesday.

Brown anchored an offensive line that put up well over 2,000 yards in both passing and rushing last year, leading to a Division AA state championship. It was the first football state title in Devils Lake history.

Brown also had offers to Minnesota State Moorhead and Valley City State.

Jamestown is a new member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Jimmies went 1-9 last fall in their first season in the NSIC North.

In a recent story for the Devils Lake Journal, Brown said he was looking to make his decision by Week 4 or 5 of the season. After talking with his family and Jamestown head coach Tom Dosch, Brown ended up announcing his decision during Week 2.
