Update on Warwick girls’ basketball
Warwick has officially canceled the remainder of its girls’ basketball season.
The Warriors were 0-12. It’s the second straight year they won’t play any postseason games.
No. 1 seed Benson County will get a bye in the District 4 tournament that begins Feb. 13.
Statement from athletic director Logan Kraft [sic]:
Warriors,
We have ultimately decided to cancel the remainder of our Girl’s Basketball season due to injuries, numbers, and the overall health and benefit for our student athletes. It was not a decision we wanted to make but we want to make sure we prioritize our student athletes health. The other District athletic directors had high praise for our girls and expressed that their determination, grit, and commitment to the game was remarkable in the circumstances they were in. We as a staff are extremely proud of our girls and coaching staff for fighting to the end and we look forward to growing our program in the coming months and years. #GOWARRIORS
Thank you,
Logan W. Kraft
Athletic Director
