Dear Editor,
Trump quotes: Campaign, 2016: “We have absolutely no choice but to repeal and replace Obamacare, and we’re going to come up with a much better plan.”
Fox News, 2017: “We’re coming out with a health care plan that, I think, is going to be terrific.”
C-Span 2, 2018: “Secretary Alex Acosta just came up with a great healthcare plan.
C-Span, 2018: “Secretary Azar is coming out with an additional plan in a very short period of time.”
C-Span, 2018: “Wait till you see the plans we have coming out literally over the next four weeks.”
C-Span, 2019: “We’re going to have a plan that is so much better than Obamacare.”
On Fox News, 2020: “We’re signing a healthcare plan within two weeks, a full and complete healthcare plan.”
Trump lost his bid for re-election of 2020. on a 2024 debate stage, to the question, “Just yes or no, you still do not have a plan (for healthcare)?” Answer: “I have concepts of a plan.”
Yes, the House GOP now has put forth a plan. It might or might not be “a much better plan” than Obamacare. Regardless, it won’t change the fact Trump lied since 2016 about having a health plan.
Lies come easily for Trump. December 3,2025, regarding video of attack on defenseless boaters off Venezuela: “Yes, DOJ will release what they have. Should be no problem.”
December 8: “I never said that! ABC fake news!” Another Trump bald-faced, easily debunked lie.
Trump likes to say how great he is. “The greatest.” He is, indeed, great. He might not be the most manipulative, self-serving, dishonest, dillusional, power-hungry, ally-despising, dictator-embracing, bow-down-to-me-or-else president that we have ever had. Yet, one might find it a challenge to think of a president who was greater at it.
