I hope you all had a good week! The weather has been so beautiful. Sunshine and slight breezes. The crops and the garden have been enjoying the warm weather and between pulling weeds, family walks, crop tours and taking care of our hens we have been trying to enjoy the weather as much as possible.

The cut flowers that my daughter and I planted have started to bloom so this week we brought the garden sheers down and made our first little bouquet. That is the included picture. Some bachelor buttons and zinnias. This is the first time we have grown flowers from seed in the garden, and it has been fun to watch them grow and to do it with my daughter.

This week on TheFarmChicken I shared a recipe for Honey Oat Sourdough Sandwich bread. The topping on the bread makes the crust so good and is one of my favorite parts of the bread! If you have been considering starting a sourdough starter, be sure to check out all the helpful information on TheFarmChicken to help you get started! I also will be selling dehydrated sourdough starter on my online Farm Goods store soon! This would make it even easier to start the sourdough process and make your first successful loaf! Sourdough is so fun!

The recipe I am sharing this week is such a good option for summer and fall! Apple Brickle dip is a great way to make apple slices more fun! It’s basically like a frosting for your apple so definitely more like a dessert option. You could probably use it for strawberries and other fruits too. Be creative!

Apple Brickle Dip Recipe

1 – 8oz cream cheese, softened

½ cup packed brown sugar

¼ cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ bag toffee or brickle chips

Mix all the ingredients together. Reserve some of the toffee or brickle chips for the top for a garnish if desired. Serve with apples. Enjoy!

Thanks for reading! I hope you have a great week!
