We have been busy these past few weeks preparing for the holidays and tying up loose ends on the ranch to be able to get away and see family. We are very thankful for our automatic waterers and the love of a neighbor friend for taking time away from his family to check on things here while we’re gone.
Thanksgiving was so much fun to be back in Minnesota spending time with my siblings and parents. It warmed my heart to see our kids run and play with their cousins! We also celebrated our daughter’s 2nd birthday! She is such a big girl! It all was so great for the soul! There are 10 grandkids (11th on the way) all under age 9!
My sisters, sister-in-law and I took my mom out for her birthday while I was home. We had a day of shopping and dinner as well as the musical “The Million Dollar Quartet” at the Old Log Theater in Excelsior, MN. The musical highlights of Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash! There was amazing talent, many laughs and lots of singing along! I highly recommend it!
While we were out having ladies day; my dad, husband and brother in law took 8 of the 10 grandkids to Cabelas in Roger’s MN in my dad’s 12 passenger business van! Our kids hadn’t been there before and were pleasantly surprised! Our youngest loved the fish aquarium. Fun fact, Lance and I went to Cabelas as part of our first date, after meeting on eharmony almost 10 years ago!
Now at home we have gotten back the routine. We got our Christmas decorations up and Christmas tree up. This year we are still doing an artificial tree, although I am determined some year to find a tree farm where we can go hunt down our family tree together!
