Being cooped up in the house in October isn’t ideal. I think this storm sent us all for a loop.
We spent days preparing the animals and yard for this weather. We (Lance) finished last minute projects, put equipment away, fed animals extra, got the water heaters plugged in..all the winter things!
As we are bundled in the house, the kids play outside coming and going. I have been reading one specific children’s book to them that really stands out lately. The book is called “Love is my Favorite Thing,” written by Emma Chichester Clark. It is one of my personal favorite because it is so relatable!
In this book Plummie is the main character. She is a poodle who just likes to have fun. She has trouble following directions and doing what she is told. Temptation for Plummie is real. She is always asking “will they still love me?” After she makes a mistake and gets in trouble for it.
Truth is, this book is a lot like childhood or the Father’s love for us. We try to listen and behave, we try to follow the rules. The temptation of something we really want to do, but we know is wrong happens many times in one day. We all want to try our best to do the right things. The Father chases after us. He leads and guides us at every turn we take. When we miss up, because let’s face it; we are all human and sinners he really does still love us.
