Obituary

Former Devils Lake resident, Robert Joe Rydin, 63, died of natural causes at home in Chesterfield Twp., MI, Sunday, February 28, 2021.

He was born January 4, 1958 in Breckenridge, ND to Orvey and Emogene Rydin. He attended the University of North Dakota and was a member of Phi Delta Theta. Rob began his career in Devils Lake with UPS as a delivery driver before moving to Utah and becoming Vice President of ELM Locating. He later worked as handyman in Colorado before retiring in Michigan.

Rob enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, cycling, horseback riding, golfing, restoring old vehicles, watching his daughter play sports, and was also an avid dog lover.

He is survived by his daughter, Josi (Kyndahl) Hill, his sister, LuAnne “Louie” (Jeff) Jones, and brothers, David (Diane) Rydin, Bruce (Liz) Rydin and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his sister, Jenelle Rydin.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
