OBIT: Arlen Lindberg

Arlen Lindberg, age 65, of Bisbee, ND, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND, following open heart surgery. Arlen Duane Lindberg was born on Nov. 25, 1954, to Larry and Evelyn (Torgerson) Lindberg in Cando, ND. He attended grade school at Perth Public School until he went to high school in Bisbee, graduating in 1972. After high school, Arlen worked at the Perth Elevator and later moved to Devils Lake, ND, to work at the Standard Gas Station. He was a good salesman in the tire department when he worked there. Arlen met Jeanne Baer in Devils Lake and they married in 1979. They later divorced but always remained friends. Arlen did not have any children. He moved back to Bisbee where he worked at Integra Casting in Cando. He started farming with his dad and mother in 1992 and was still farming until his death. Arlen was a very good mechanic and maintained most of his farm equipment. Arlen was a faithful Minnesota Vikings fan, as he watched his final game on Sunday. He never gave up on his Vikings. Arlen also had a passion for ice fishing, constructing several ice fish houses and would even leave ice fishing to watch football. Arlen was a mentor for many kids, teaching them mechanics, how to drive and to spin cookies. He was the chauffer for his nephews and nieces for the annual deer hunt. Arlen also had planned on shooting the big buck this upcoming ND deer rifle season. He loved planting and harvesting potatoes and added a pumpkin patch this year. Arlen loved to have his nieces and nephews and their kids over to pick from his garden. He liked to have picnics in his farmyard and would have the Chocolate Shop in Bisbee on speed dial. Arlen, most always, started out his day at the Chocolate Shop to hear the news at the round table. Arlen is survived by; his mother, Evelyn Lindberg of Rolla, ND; sisters, Marlene Smith of Milwaukee, OR, Sandra Lindberg of Bisbee, Sheri (Bill) Langer of Perth, and Patty (Steve) Arvidson of Lake Upsilon; brother, Roger (Helen) Lindberg of Perth; nine nieces and nephews; seven great-nephews; and three step-great-nieces and nephews.
