Elaine Pollestad was born on November 28, 1926 on a farm Southwest of Hampden, North Dakota. She died on September 22, 2021 in Olympia WA. She graduated from the Hampden High School. She married Tonnes B. Pollestad on November 14, 1948 at Hampden North Dakota. The couple made their home on a farm South of Alsen, North Dakota. They enjoyed living in Olympia, WA during some of the winter months.

Three children Paulette (Ron) Hoffman, Tonnes (Mary) Pollestad, and Sonia (Jerry) Stinkeoway survive her. She has nine grandchildren, Matthew Stinkeoway, Michael Stinkeoway, Elizabeth Stinkeoway, David Stinkeoway, Naomi Hoang, Ruth Rautio, Margaret Hoffman, Ron Jr. Hoffman, Gail Sievers. Elaine, was also blessed with 20 great grandchildren, Delaney, Colton, Anna, William, Jayden, Lincoln, Sophia, Tyler, Allyanna, Titus, Ezekiel, Lexi, Valari, Deanna, Caitlyn, Jennifer, Sara, Michelle, Ashley, and Maddison.

Her parents Oscar and Anna Borg, her brother Gordon Borg, her husband Tonnes and sister- in- law Pauline Borg preceded her in death.

Elaine was an active member of her church. She also was an active member in her local ladies’ aid and her North Dakota District Women’s Missionary Federation. Her greatest hobbies were her flowers and mowing grass around the farm. She also enjoyed painting and drawing. She hosted many pastors and people from the AFLC and Free Lutheran Bible College (AFLBS) in her home.

Elaine has loved ones and friends who will dearly miss her. We celebrate the fact that she is at peace in the presence of her creator. Blessed be her memory.

On Friday July 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., a funeral service will be held at Zoar Free Lutheran Church in Hampden, North Dakota. The internment will be held for family at the Hampden Cemetery.
