Sylvia J. Praus, a longtime resident of Devils Lake and recently of Mesa, AZ passed away on June 19, 2022. At her request, no public service will be held. Private internment will be held at the Devils Lake, ND cemetery. Condolences may be sent to PO Box 15365, Scottsdale, AZ 85267.

Sylvia was born August 27, 1940 at Grassy Butte, ND to Henry Koller and Anna (Feigitsch) Koller. She attended Dickinson State University, interning as a medical technologist at St, Joseph’s Hospital, Minot, ND. Sylvia was the first graduate of the medical technologist program at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was employed at the Altru Lake Region Clinic at Devils Lake, ND for 24 years, retiring in 1998.

Sylvia was happily united in marriage to Frank E. Praus on June 27, 1959 for nearly 63 years. Surviving her are: her husband Frank, three daughters Julie Marie Praus, Leslie Deanne (Larry) Shjerve, and Bobbie Jeanne (James) Fox, sister Carol Terrel and brother Henry Koller, twelve grandchildren Nick, Nathan, Rachel, Sam, Karla, Razz, Sara, Christina, Michael, Alex, Derek, and Meghan and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Christian Michael Praus, and her four sisters: Harriet Stahl, Pearl Winkler, Evelyn Hagel, Wilme Cassezza and her parents.
