Chaun P. Keating , 51, of Phoenix, Arizona, died January 27, 2022.

He was born August 20th, 1970, in Brunswick, Georgia. He grew up in Devils Lake, North Dakota and was an avid hockey player from the age of 6, all the way through high school. His senior year of high school he moved, with his father, to Aberdeen, SD and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School. There, he continued to play with the Aberdeen Cougars, forming hockey friendships that lasted until the time of his passing.

After high school, Chaun subsequently moved to the Phoenix, AZ area to study Aeronautical Engineering Technology at Arizona State University and most recently, was working as a Data Center Operations Linus Systems Engineer for Acronis, an international cybersecurity company.

Chaun married Sarah Drummond on March 21, 1998 in Phoenix, AZ.

He enjoyed wakeboarding, scuba diving, swimming with his dogs and dirt bike riding in the desert.

He is survived by his wife, of 24 years, Sarah Drummond, of Phoenix. Surviving family include father, Paul Keating, of Devils Lake, ND; mother, Pamela Brekke Keating, of Grand Forks, ND (formerly of Devils Lake); brother, Christopher Keating and nephew, Kaleb Keating, also of Devils Lake. Aunts include Nora Keating, Marnie Langley, Gail Brekke, Karla Klemetsrude Brekke; Uncles include Gerald Keating, Kelly Keating, Curtis Eugene Brekke Jr., Preston Langley; and a large group of cousins from all around the country.

He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Robert and Ellen Keating and Curtis and Gerry Brekke; Robert Brekke (uncle); and Sharon Keating (Aunt).

Memorial services are planned for immediate family and close friends later in March, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona.
