Karen Eidsness, 82, West Fargo, ND died Sunday, Dec. 12th, 2021 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

Karen Anne Thomson was born Jan. 12, 1939 to Walter and Florence Thomson of Southam, ND. Karen attended Hope School and then graduated from Devils Lake High School in 1956. After high school, Karen attended Minot State Teachers College. Following graduation in 1958, she took a job teaching school in Starkweather, ND.

On June 29th, 1958, she married Grant Wesley Eidsness. They made their home in Devils Lake. In 1962, they moved to Jamestown where they lived until 1975 when they moved to Fargo. Karen and Grant settled in North Fargo and joined Hope Lutheran Church. They owned and operated Truck Equipment of Fargo where they worked side by side and she was “The Boss” and served as the office manager.

Karen loved being at the lake in the summer and never missed a MN Twins or Green Bay Packers game.

She is survived by her husband, Grant; son, Rory (Kari) Eidsness of Parker, CO; daughter, Roxanne (Lon) Smedsrud of West Fargo, ND; daughter, Rhonda (Terry) Bowser of Alexandria, MN; son, Ryan (Elise) of Fargo, ND; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Kyhl (Marlene) Thomson of Billings, MT and Kevin (Pam) Thomson of Greenleaf, WI.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Florence Thomson and her brother, Kent Thomson.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of the Red River Valley.

A special thank you to Dr. Mallberg, Kari, and all of the staff at House Calls and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Funeral Service: Friday, Dec. 17, 2021 at 1 PM at Hope Lutheran Church (North Campus), Fargo, ND with visitation one hour prior.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, North in Fargo.
