Paul Aslakson, 88, Mesa AZ, passed away Oct. 27, 2025, at Banner Hospital in Mesa. He was surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born July 16, 1937, in Edmore, ND, to Harold and Agnus Aslakson.
He had one older brother Richard (Dick). Paul grew up and lived in Edmore. He graduated from Edmore High School in 1955. He served his country by joining the Unites States Navy from 1956 to 1958 in San Diago, CA. He returned to ND and married Mayvis Anderson on Nov. 7, 1959. They had two children Tim and Kathryn. Paul farmed with his son, Tim, until Tim’s death in 1981. Paul worked at Rain and Hail as a crop adjuster for 30 years.
Paul and Mayvis would spend the winter months in AZ where they enjoyed family, golfing, their friends, along with buying and selling antiques. They were married for 66 years. The highlight of each winter was spending time with Scott and Kathryn, and especially their three grandchildren, Tyler, Josh and Alexa.
In the last ten years they were blessed with nine great grandchildren. Paul was thankful to his Lord and Savior Jesus for his life, his family, along with many friends in both ND and AZ. He felt very blessed by his life.
Paul is survived by his wife Mayvis, Mesa, AZ, daughter Kathryn (Scott) Montgomery, Queen Creek, AZ, grandchildren Tyler (Katie) Montgomery, Gilbert, AZ, Joshua (Catherine) Montgomery, Cincinnati, OH, Alexa (Chase) Calder, Mesa, AZ, great grandchildren, Landon Montgomery, Henley Montgomery, Colt Montgomery, Tessa Montgomery, Hayden Montgomery, Harmony Montgomery, Luca Calder, Remi Calder, Banks Calder, and brother Richard Aslakson, Salida, CO. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Agnus Aslakson, and son, Tim Aslakson.
Memorial services will held Sunday, Nov 23 at 2 p.m. in the Sedona Room at Sunland Village East, Mesa, AZ. In the spring of 2026, a memorial and burial will be held in Edmore, N.D.
