Lori M. Garcia, 66 of Devils Lake, ND, passed away on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks in the presence of loving family.
Lori Marguerite, daughter of David and Estella (Delorme) Garcia, was born on June 15, 1959, in Devils Lake. She attended Devils Lake Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1977. She enlisted education at UND, earning her RN Nursing Degree and a Degree in Psychology.
In her desire to serve her country and her community, Lori served as a Lieutenant in the Nurses Commission Corp, working at the IHS Clinic at Fort Totten for many years. She was forced to retire as she had increasing health difficulties.
She and her soul-mate Steven Gordon have made a life together for over 36 years and are the proud parents of a son Kirk.
Lori has loved the outdoors and horses her entire life. She had horses when living at home with her parents and after the floods of 1997 was able to bring horses closer to Devils Lake. It was difficult to give up her passion for horseback riding on her own horse.
Lori practiced her pledge to practice her profession faithfully and with loyalty, and to devote herself to the welfare of those committed to her care. But first and foremost, she loved deeply and with all her heart her family and dear friends.
Lori is survived by her dear Steve and precious son, Kirk Gordon, of Devils Lake; brother David Garcia, Belcourt; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
