Betty Ann (Winnegge) Langton, age 78 of Lakota, ND, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, at MaryHill Manor Nursing Home in Enderlin, ND, with her family by her side.

There will be a celebration of life service for Betty on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with Reverend Jodi Myrvik officiating.

Betty Ann was born Sept. 16, 1946, in Cando, ND, to Leonard and Emma (Strachen) Winnegge.

She was the oldest of four daughters and she fully owned that title. Sometimes arguing with her sister, Barb, who actually thought she was the oldest.

She was raised in Lakota where she met and married Jim Langton of Lawton, ND. They made their home on a farm by Lawton, raising their three daughters there.

Betty later moved back to Lakota, and was assistant manager at Jerry’s Jack & Jill and later worked at the Lakota Lodge at the front desk.

Betty had a zest for life. She enjoyed dice games, especially Farkle, her casino visits, her morning coffee with friends at Sunlac, her love for the New York Yankees, and spending time with her family.

She loved her daughters and grandchildren very much. When her great grandchildren came, Betty found her truest happiness and peace.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters Tina (Craig) Wimer, Lisbon ND and Denise (Brian) Legacie, Lawton ND; two grandchildren Ashley (Ben) Anderson, Casselton ND and Austin Wimer and his significant other, Jackie both of Gwinner ND; sister Kathy (Bernard) Skalicy, Norwich ND as well as many other family members and friends. She will be a guardian angel to her three precious great grandchildren Rowdy, Weston and Emma.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Penny Jo, her parents Leonard and Emma, sisters Barb Tufte and Susie Wetzel, and her husband Jim Langton.

Urn Bearers will be Craig Wimer, Brian Legacie, Austin Wimer and Ben Anderson.

Honorary Bearers are Betty’s great grandchildren Rowdy, Weston and Emma.
