Marjorie Ann Nelson of Devils Lake, ND, passed away at CHI, St. Alexius Health, Devils Lake Hospital on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 with family by her side. She was 76 years of age.
Marjorie is in the care of the Gilbertson Funeral Home. Services are pending.
Marjorie Ann was born on Jan. 31, 1949, to Leo and Eileen (Kain) Maloney. She was raised on the family homestead East of Webster, ND. She attended Harding Township Grad School, Webster Public School and graduated from Devils Lake Central High School with the class of 1967. Marjorie continued her education and earned a degree from Aaker’s Business College.
Marjorie married Gary Nelson on Dec. 28, 1968, and they were the proud parents of their son, Bryan, and made their home in Devils Lake. They later divorced.
Marjorie enjoyed working and was employed at Northern States Power and Mercy Hospital. She then began employment with James Andrews, retiring from there.
Family and friends were very important to Marjorie and she treasured any time spent with them. She enjoyed staying active and was an avid reader. Her role as a Mom was the most loved and important role in her life.
Our precious Marge will be forever loved and cherished by all whose lives she touched.
Marge is survived by her son Bryan; brother Reverend (Abbott) Daniel Maloney, Bismarck, ND; several nieces, nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Tom Maloney; sisters Pat Fredericks and Mary Plog.
