Vicky Lynn Jones, of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the age of 70.

There was a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, June 21 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with a time of prayer and remembrance. Vicky will be laid to rest with her beloved Tom at the Devils Lake Cemetery.

Vicky Lynn, daughter of Arnold and Victoria (Rondeau) Anderson was born on Sep. 7, 1954, in Devils Lake ND one of 15 children. She grew up in Devils Lake attended Central Middle School and graduating from Little Flower School in St. Michael, ND.

Vicky was the proud mother of two children N. Christopher and John Dee.

Vicky was a devoted mother and worked hard to support her family. She worked a variety of jobs including the Ranch Supper Club, Dakota Sportswear, and Dakota Tribal Industries. Vicky was the owner and operator of the “Lunch Box” Café for a time. Most recently Vicky worked as a CNA at the Good Samaritan Care Center and Eventide Heartland until health issues forced her to retire.

While working at DTI, Vicky met her soul mate Thomas Jones. They were united in marriage on June 30, 1990, in a back yard wedding. They always felt that the Good Lord was smiling down on them as they made a life of love, laughter and treasured memories until his death Jan. 26, 2021.

Vicky’s favorite pastimes were gardening, quilting and sewing. She was quite talented at sewing curtains and making quilts, so changed her décor frequently. She and Tom also enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S.

Vicky’s best days were those spent with family, especially her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She never missed a chance to go to BINGO with her sisters or just enjoy a good cup of coffee and conversation with family. Her family meant the world to her.

Our precious Vicky, gone too soon, forever missed, forever loved, forever in our hearts.

Vicky’s loving family include her son John Dee Heustis; grandchildren Christopher (Meghan) Heustis, Ashleigh Heustis and Brady Heustis/Bryce (Anna) Heustis, Dylan Heustis, Carsyn Heustis and Jace Baird; great grandsons Maxium and Jude Thomas and great granddaughter Rory; sister Marlene Hanson; son David (Shawn) Jones and grandchildren April Jones and David Jones Jr; special nephew Wade and Gina Hanson and their family and other precious nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, son N. Christopher Heustis, siblings John Munson, Kenneth Munson, Julius Munson, Victoria (Keila) Miller, Frances Welch, Olive “Tiny” Asleson, Arnie Anderson, Jimmy Anderson, Bruce Anderson, Joan Anderson, Marcia M. Munson-Lindquist and two siblings in infancy, brothers-in-law Don Hanson, Ken Miller, and Doug Asleson.
