Gregory Allen ‘Greg’ Schell, 78, passed away on March 21, 2025, in Billings, Mont. Greg was born on Dec. 8, 1946, in Devils Lake, N.D. to Joe and Virginia Schell.

He built a lifelong career as an auto glass installer and specialized in auto body repair and painting. His dedication to his craft was evident in the precision and care he brought to every job.

Beyond his work, Greg had a passion for motorcycle riding, radio-controlled airplane building and flying, as well as astronomy. He found joy in the open road, the intricacies of model aircraft building and gazing at the stars. His hobbies reflected his curiosity and appreciation for both adventure and craftsmanship.

A devoted husband of 60 years, Greg shared a lifetime of love with his wife, Marilyn Schell. He was a proud father to Monica Clark (Lonny), Jeff Schell (Kristi), Michael Schell, Marianne Peterson (Tim). His grandchildren, Kazlyn and Beckam Clark, Ethan, Elia and Emma Peterson, Megan Vaden, James Schendel and great-grandchildren Josie and Ben.

His family was a source of immense joy in his life. He absolutely cherished spending time with Elia and Emma every week. Greg is also survived by his sister Jolene Boathman, nephew Bill Yahnke (Angie) and niece Thea Yahnke. Greg was known for his great sense of humor, tireless work ethic and willingness to help anyone in need. His kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on those around him

A memorial service was held on March 29, 2025, at Michelotti-Sawyer Mortuary, located at 1001 Alderson Ave., Billings, MT. 59102. Greg’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
