Dale Carlson was born July 25, 1952 and died February 3, 2025 at Sanford on Broadway in Fargo with his wife at his side.

Dale was born to Orlean and Mary Geneveive (Scharf) Carlson on July 25, 1952, the youngest of 3 children. He graduated from Devils Lake High School and played in several bands during and after high school. He married Helen Brown on June 17, 1972, in Brocket, ND, and they had two children: Stefany and Jason.
Dale worked as a plumber for Swenson Plumbing for a number of years before starting his own business Quality Plumbing. Prior to his retirement he had worked in the City Utility Department for a number of years.
The most important thing in Dale’s life was his family and he enjoyed all the time spent with them, whether it was fishing, hunting, or coaching softball. Dale and Helen coached a girls softball team, who later turned into a women’s softball team. The girls team took the State Softball Tournament in 1992 and accumulated a large number of trophies and plaques over the years. Their daughter Stefany was on the team and one of the star players. They spent almost 20 years coaching the Quality Plumbing team.
Dale was an avid hunter, whether it was birds or deer. His son Jason was always by his side, as well as grandsons when they were older. He also loved to fish whether on the shore or on the ice. It made him very happy that his grandchildren loved to go fishing and hunting with him and he was able to teach them to fish and hunt, as well as instill in them all the love of the sports.
He was preceded by death by his parents Orlean and Mary Geneveive Carlson, and mother-in-law Edith Brown.
He is survived by his wife Helen, son Jason Carlson, daughter Stefany (Jason) Fee, grandchildren Alexis (Steven) Hunt, Jadyn (Kade) Pengilly, Hunter Fee, Braden Fee, Genna Fee, Torri Fee, Kade Fee, Tylor Carlson, Haylee Carlson, Landyn Carlson, and great-granddaughter Kollins Pengilly, father-in-law Peter Brown, brothers Byron (Judy) Carlson, Wayne (Mary Jane) Carlson, sisters-in-law Rita (Jack) Volk, Kathy Whitman, brothers-in-law Henry (Joyce) Brown, Bob Brown, many nieces and nephews.
