Sharon Schuler, of Devils Lake, formerly of Fargo and Munich, ND, passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 27, 2024, at her home at Eventide Lake Country Manor, Devils Lake.

Sharon Gail Schuler, age 86, was born on Jan. 28, 1938, in Langdon, ND the daughter of Victor and Esther (Heldt) Wirth. She grew up in Munich, ND graduating from Munich High School.

Sharon married Alphonse “Al” Schuler on Sep. 24, 1957, in Munich. The couple made their home in Munich, where they lived and participated in community events. After raising their children, they moved to the family farm in 1985. A lighting strike destroyed the home in June 1986. Sharon and Al rebuilt a beautiful home and lived there until retiring and moving to Fargo in 2007. Al passed away April 12, 2008. Sharon continued living in Fargo until moving to Devils Lake in 2013. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Sharon enjoyed hosting family gatherings and holidays while living on the farm. She will be missed by her loving family. Survivors include her children: Vicki (Wesley) Wood, Rock Lake, ND; Alan (Cindy) Schuler, San Tan Valley, AZ; Curtis (Colleen) Schuler, Devils Lake, ND and Lori (William) Walsh, Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Brenda Wood, Scott (Kjirsten) Wood, Mindy (Cassidy) Campbell, Alex (Jenna) Schuler and Krista Walsh; great grandchildren: Ashton Brown, Wyatt, Tanner and, MaKayla Campbell and Harleigh and Brielle Wood. Sharon is also survived by her sister, Colleen Fischer, Gold Canyon, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Alphonse; parents; sister, Beverly Thornton and brother, Terry Wirth; brothers-in-law Perkins Thornton, Elmer (Bill) Fischer, Don Hareland and sister-in-law Pam Schuler.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. There will be a time of fellowship at the Parish Center following the funeral mass. Burial will be Monday, Dec. 9 in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND at 1:00 p.m.
