Bradley Don Orwick, age 63, of Mandan, ND, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 20, 2023.
Brad was born in Devils Lake, ND, to Don and Patricia (Johnson) Orwick on April 29, 1959 and was later baptized and confirmed at Melrose Church. He grew up on a farm south of Michigan, with his brother, Bryce. Brad enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, and helping his dad with farming. After he graduated high school (Class of ’77) from Michigan, he went on to study Agriculture at Lake Region State College and later took flying lessons.
In 1985, he welcomed his son, Keith, and in 1988 welcomed his daughter, Teresa. His children were affectionately known to him as Bucko and Tilly. Whenever he traveled, he made sure to send a postcard to them every chance he had.
Brad never met a stranger; he loved to visit with people and especially enjoyed reminiscing with classmates and old friends. He had a big smile and contagious laugh. One of his most beloved hobbies was taking pictures at every opportunity he had. It is believed he kept the disposable camera industry in business.
Brad is survived by his mother, Patricia (Mack) Susag of Harvey, ND; brother, Bryce Orwick of Clara City, MN; children, Keith (Sara) Pic of Bismarck, ND, Teresa (Bruce) DeWeese of Williston, ND; grandchildren, Julius and Charles Pic, and Madyson DeWeese; his nieces Emily (Colten) Carlson of Willmar, MN and Carly Orwick of Fargo, ND, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Don Orwick; grandparents, Fred and Ansoph Orwick, and Elmer and Esther Johnson.
We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Odd Fellows Home in Devils Lake, ND and Edgewood in Mandan, ND.
Family and friends are welcome to attend services, which are being planned for this spring. Please monitor the Gilbertson Funeral Home website for updates.
