Vieno Amanda (Martin) Garske, 94 of Devils Lake formerly of the Rock Lake/Hansboro, ND, area passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Eventide Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
There was a Graveside Service for Vieno on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Vieno Amanda, daughter of Leonard and Helmi Martin was born on June 28, 1930 in the Rock Lake/Hansboro area of North Dakota. She grew up in the Rock Lake area attending country school.
Vieno married Edward A. Garske in 1954 and they established their home in Devils Lake where they lived and worked through the years. Ed passed away in 1969.
Vieno worked for many years at the Artclare Hotel in Devils Lake. Vieno loved the outdoors, wildlife and the beauty of flowers.
Vieno’s loving family include her brother George Martin and his wife Rose, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; nephew and niece Heath (Merrie) Martin, Tonia (Cameron) Carter, Shanyn Martin (Jeffery’s wife); many great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, nephew Jeffery Martin, niece Lisa Martin Henry and parents.
Vieno is in the care of the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake
