Dean Jay Howes, 66, Goodyear, AZ, passed away in Nevis, MN, on August 2, 2024.
Dean was born February 6, 1958, to Earl and Ruby (Holm) Howes in Devils Lake, ND. He grew up in Devils Lake. After high school he attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He married Dona Lunde. They lived in various cities in the Minneapolis area and in Grand Forks, ND. They enjoyed lake life in Nevis, MN. They later retired to Goodyear, AZ.
Dean retired in 2020 from Airgas as a delivery driver in Arizona.
Dean enjoyed fishing, hiking, boating, pickleball and golfing.
Dean is survived by his wife, Dona, of Goodyear, AZ; step-daughter, Amy (Jeff) Appel and grandchildren, Hadlea, McKinlea, and Thomas of Park Rapids, MN; sister, Karen (Darryl) Dolan of Bismarck, ND; brother-in-law, Roger Knutson of Devils Lake; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruby Howes; and sister, Yvonne Knutson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2024, at the University Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND. Visitation is for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are by the Cease Family Funeral Home of Park Rapids and Nevis, MN.
