Dennis J. Ramsey, age 62 of Devils Lake, ND, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, at his home in Devils Lake.
Dennis Jay Ramsey was born June 27, 1961, in Park River, ND, the son of Dorothy (Momerak) Ramsey and the late Kenneth Ramsey. He graduated from Park River High School and attended North Dakota State University. Dennis began his career with the North Dakota Department of Transportation working in Rolla, ND. After his promotion he moved to Devils Lake and continued working for NDDOT until his retirement. He continued to live in Devils Lake and was the manager at Fairview Grocery and worked as a cook at Eventide Nursing home.
He was a member and former Fire Chief for the Rolla Fire Department. He was actively involved with 4-H and FFA while in school. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved cooking, woodworking and loved the outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping and gardening.
Dennis is survived by his mother, Dorothy Ramsey, Park River, ND; siblings: David (Jayne) Ramsey, Park River, ND; Robert (Debbie) Ramsey, Alexandria, MN; Dean Ramsey, Park River, ND; Rennae (Duane Stroot) Ramsey, Crookston, MN; brother-in-law: Monty (Kari) Novak, Park River, ND; step-daughter: Daisha Herbel, Bottineau, ND; step grandchildren: Isaac and Mya Herbel. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many extended family also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, siblings: Rick Ramsey and Gail Novak, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Memorial services and visitation were held Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Park River, ND. Inurnment was at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND.
