Carl Robert Schmid, age 70, passed away on May 7, 2024, at the Towner County Living Center in Cando, ND. He was born on Nov. 12, 1957, to Glen and Norma (Gilbertson) Schmid.
He graduated from Minnewaukan High School and went to the Wahpeton State School of Science. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Clairmont until his motorcycle accident in 1979.
After his accident Carl spent his life in Minnewaukan until moving to the Towner County Living Center. Carl loved being outside walking his dog, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds. He was a very big Twins and Cubs baseball enthusiast.
He was proceeded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his brother Milton Schmid and wife Nita of Yuma, AZ; sister Carrie Iverson and husband Kevin of Bismarck, ND; sister Sarah Jacobson and husband Tim of Fairfield, PA, as well as his much loved nieces and nephews.
Carl is in the care of the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. Services are pending for a later date.
