Jean Pfau, age 70, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, at her home.

Jean Susan, the daughter of Vincent and Janet (Asleson) Solie, was born on Aug. 9, 1953, in Fargo, ND. She was raised, alongside her brother and sister, in Ulen, MN. Following her high school graduation from Ulen – Hitterdal High School, Jeannie moved to the Fargo-Moorhead area. She shared a home with several other girls who became lifelong friends. During these younger years, Jeannie furthered her education and worked as a secretary. She also sang with the musical group “Burlington” and recorded a well-known Country Furniture commercial jingle. Jean had a beautiful voice and often sang at weddings and other family events. In 1980, while at the Sunset Lanes Bowling Alley in Moorhead, Jeannie met Dennis Pfau and found her soulmate. They were inseparable and began building a life together. Dennis and Jean were united in marriage on Sep. 20, 1985, and they worked side-by-side in Pfau Construction for many years. They traveled every winter, most often to the ocean coastlines and warm beaches. Jean and Dennis spent many weeks each year in Florida, peacefully watching the sun set and moon rise over the ocean. In 1992, Jeannie gave up the physical demands of her construction career and earned her Real Estate license. She worked as a Real Estate agent for over 25 years, most recently with Town and County Realty. In her retirement, they continued to travel and enjoyed spending time at their lake cabin on Little Cormorant. Jean’s world was devastated when Dennis passed away on Dec. 22, 2022, following an unfortunate construction accident. Jeannie’s heart was utterly broken and she missed Dennis dearly. Trusting in God’s plan, she painstakingly carried on until they were re-united in His kingdom on Sunday, April 14, 2024. Jean will be greatly missed by her family, but those who knew her and their love story, rejoice in her happiness once again.

Jean was passionate, fun, and full of life. She was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, great -great aunt and godmother. Although they had no children of their own, Aunt Jeannie and Uncle Dennis were very involved in their nieces’ and nephews’ lives. They anticipated their “Jeannie days” when she visited weekly and during holidays. Family was a huge part of her life and she never missed an opportunity to gather with them. Jeannie kept notes, cards, and everything given to her by loved ones, as well as many recipes and treasures she found along her journey. Jean loved to eat out or have a special treat delivered to her. She appreciated the little things in life and always showed her love to others. In addition to traveling, she and Dennis enjoyed getting dressed up to go out on the town whenever they were able. Jeannie always looked her best and was beautiful inside and out. She had the kindest heart and was truly a testament of love.
