Jeanette Ann Feldner, 87 of Devils Lake formerly of Starkweather, ND passed away on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law.

Funeral Services for Jeanette will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with Reverend Robert Buechler officiating. The burial will be in the Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Cemetery, rural Starkweather in the spring.

Jeanette Ann, daughter of Alfred and Teresa (Roberts) Thompson was born on Nov. 23, 1936, in Seivert Township, Cavalier County, ND. She grew up on the family farm and attended the Seivert Township School. Her high school education was at Central High School in Devils Lake.

Jeanette was united in marriage to John G. Feldner on Sep. 14, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Starkweather ND. They established their home on a farm in the Starkweather area and then in 1957 they moved to the farm at St. Joe. They worked side by side and raised their family there through the years.

Jeanette was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and cared for home, farm, and family her entire life. After John’s death on Feb. 28, 2017, Jeanette continued to live at the farm until July of 2021 when she moved into Devils Lake to live with her son and daughter-in-law who cared for her until her passing.

Along with being a farm wife, Jeanette also established her own business “J’s Plaster Crafts” in the early 1980’s.

Jeanette loved the farm, the great outdoors where she tended a large garden, and had a greenhouse with over 1,000 plants which she faithfully took outdoors each spring and brought back inside each fall. The windows that let in the sunshine to nourish her plants also nourished her soul. She loved the warmth and beauty that she found in her greenhouse. She was an avid reader and active member of Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church and WELCA.

Jeanette loved her Lord, her dear friends and her family who were her pride and joy.

Thankful to have shared in her life are her children Kenneth J. Feldner and his wife Karen of Devils Lake and Stephanie Feldner of Rotan, TX; grandchildren Travis Feldner, Devils Lake, Kristi (Thomas) Pearson, Fargo, ND; Cindy (Kyle) Moore, Angel Fire, NM, Jill (Kory) Ramsey, Rotan TX and Cole Krebsbach also of Angel Fire; several precious great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and their families.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of the Red River Valley and especially Tammy Brooks for their wonderful care and support over these last months.
