Katherine Mary Moos, 74, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD, surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, at Plymouth Congregational Church, Aberdeen, with Pastor Blair Kirkpatrick officiating.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.

A time of fellowship and luncheon will follow the service at the church hall.

Katherine Mary Burdick was born on July 4, 1949, to Gordon and Jeannette (Berg) Burdick in Devils Lake, ND. Gordon and Jeannette had six children: Anita , Katherine, Robert, Judy, Mark, and Bill. Katherine attended and graduated in 1967 from Minnewaukan High School in Minnewaukan, ND. She then attended cosmetology school in Jamestown, ND.

Katherine married Ralph Moos on June 7, 1969. The couple was blessed with two sons, Patrick and Joshua. She worked at various beauty salons for 30+ years, making many friends along the way. Katherine was a great listener with a big heart which helped make the many connections that she had throughout life. After moving to Aberdeen, SD, in 2000, she continued to make friends by cleaning and house-sitting for various residents of Aberdeen.

Katherine enjoyed reading books and volunteering at her church. She also enjoyed visits to the nursing home to see her friends. She cherished her time with her siblings, children, and grandchildren.

Grateful to have shared Katherine’s life are her husband of 54 years, Ralph; two children, Patrick Moos and Joshua Moos; daughter-in-law, Angela Moos; grandchildren: Joshua, Brian, and Katherine; siblings Judy Brosz and Bill Burdick; and many cousins.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Jeannette; siblings: Anita (stillborn), Mark, and Robert; and many cousins.
