Derek Sturguess, age 49, of Brookfield, died Sunday, June 10, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family.
A funeral service will be Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Phil Bray and Pastor Ron Adrian officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield. Visitation will be Friday, June 15, 2018, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening at the funeral home.

Derek Noll, son of Jerry and Janice Sturguess, was born August 24, 1968, in Shalimar, Florida. On September 26, 1998, he married his best friend, Sherri Johnson Watson.
Derek was a 1987 graduate of Marceline RV High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Macon.
He worked as a welder for Brookfield Fabricating in Brookfield for over 20 years. Derek also owned and operated Crossfire Tactical in Brookfield where he was an educator for Basic, Advanced, and Private Pistol Training and Concealed Carry courses.
Survivors include his wife, Sherri of the home; daughters, Brittany Sturguess-Wilson and husband, Junior of Brookfield and Savanna Watson and fiancé, Tony McCallan of Stewartsville; son, Devin Colyer of Brookfield; father, Jerry Sturguess of St. Catharine; sister Dawn Smith and husband, Lee of St. Catharine, sister Deborah Jackson of Savannah, Georgia; brother, Damon Sturguess and wife, Jean of St. Catharine; brother, Donald Sturguess and fiancée Sissy McDaniels of St. Catharine; grandchildren, Aubrey, Alexander, and Audrick Wilson of Brookfield and Jaxtyn Johnson of Stewartsville; mother-in-law, Veronica “Ronnie” Hines of Glasgow; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Sturguess; infant sister, Donna Lyne Sturguess; and father-in-law, Ronnie Hines.
