Carrie Ann (Kenner) Mitchell of Mesa, Arizona passed away Sunday, June 11 in her home after a 5-year battle with cancer. There were many miracles along the way, but the Lord decided it was time for Carrie to be with God in Paradise. She passed from this life to eternal life in the presence of her loving husband, David Mitchell, and her loving daughter, Destiny Kenner.
Carrie Ann (Kenner) Mitchell, the daughter of Lanny and Rena Kenner, was born Sept. 14, 1974, at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND. After moving and going to school in several places in Arizona and Bismarck, she graduated in May of 1994 in Devils Lake, ND.
Carrie spent most of her career in the food service and hospitality industry bartending and waitressing and later went on to become a great cook and became the head chef for a catering company in AZ. Carrie had a radiant personality with a smile and laugh memorable to most people who met her. Her greatest joy in life was being the mother of her beloved daughter Destiny. She also loved hiking & outdoor adventure, cooking & entertaining, music & going to concerts, and doing volunteer work at church and for her favorite charities. She met the love of her life David Mitchell in 2000 and the two were a great pair. In 2014 they found Christ and were married in March of 2015. Carrie and her husband David went on several mission trips including to India and Africa.
Carrie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Shirley and Don Nakken, Ruth and Darwin Kenner and Leonard Steckler.
Carrie is survived by her husband David Mitchell, her daughter Destiny Kenner and boyfriend Mike Lim, her parents Rena Kenner,
Lanny (Lenora) Kenner, sister Sheena (Jason) Fetzer, brothers James Kenner, Ethan Kenner, Jordan (Timarra) Kenner along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at Generation Church-South Mountain Campus, 11832 South Warner Elliot Loop, Mesa, AZ at 3 p.m. July 15and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Peterson Arena, 7823 Highway 19, Devils Lake, ND at 11 a.m., July 22, 2023.
