Darcy Wade Robinson was born June 5, 1960 to Darcy D. and Myrna E. (Crist) Robinson in Cando, ND. Darcy Wade had many wonderful friendships in his lifetime. He began many of these friendships when he moved into his home through Lake Region Corporation in Devils Lake in 1989. He remained under LRC’s support and guidance until the time of his death. Darcy attended Day Program Monday through Friday at LRC. Before settling within Devils Lake, Darcy lived with his family and at Grafton State School.

As a youth, Darcy experienced great happiness on his family’s farm. He gained a lifelong love for tractors, farm animals, and outdoor activities as a result. Darcy liked all people. He enjoyed watching them. When he connected with someone, Darcy would smile, make eye contact, and (if they were lucky) give a quick hug.

Darcy loved his family most. He was very close to them and always very happy to see them. His dad, brother, and sister (and their families) all kept in contact with Darcy. Their stopping to visit and taking Darcy out for a car ride or to the lake was number one on his list of favorite things to do. The Dairy Queen, parades, swimming, and car races were a close number two.

Silky clothes were a favorite and required “trying on” several to find that perfect fit. This became one of Darcy’s favorite pastimes…day or night. Raiding the kitchen refrigerator may have happened once or twice. “Alone time” usually found Darcy looking through his many farm and picture magazines. He was a man with many dreams.

We were blessed to have Darcy in our lives. He taught us to appreciate “the simple things” in life: **Hugging someone you care about. Darcy expressed such love and appreciation at every visit. You were guaranteed a hug when you arrived and another when you told him you’d be back soon. **Making plans with those you love. Darcy always made sure you knew he heard you say you’d be back and that he’d be waiting for your next visit. **Enjoy God’s country. Darcy helped us reset priorities and escape the daily stresses of life through our many long rides together. He lived for his family time. **Living in each moment. Darcy never asked why it took us so long to return to visit. He was just happy we made it back again. **Knowing what really matters in life. Darcy loved his family and friends unconditionally. He knew each day was a gift.

Darcy will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each and every one…and if you knew Darcy, you knew his love.
