William “Bill” Earl Nix Jr. of Knox, ND., passed away peacefully at the age of 74 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, ND, on May 2, 2023.

Bill was born Oct. 16, 1948, to William and Tinella Nix of Ocala, Florida. He graduated from Ocala High School in 1968. Bill enlisted and served in the United States Air Force from October 1968 until October 1972 stationed at Minot AFB in North Dakota, where he met and married Nancy Ohm on July 24, 1971. They lived for a short time in Ocala and then in Rugby, Pleasant Lake and eventually Knox, ND.

He worked in the flooring trade as an installer for many years until he retired. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go fishing and hunting with his family and friends. His passion was traditional archery and was a member of the North Dakota Bowhunters Association.

Bill is survived by his wife Nancy (Ohm) Nix; his sons, Michael Nix of Valley City and Joey (Denise) Nix of Jamestown; his grandchildren, Levi Nix and Lexia Nix; his step grandchildren, Blake (Erika) Bossingham and Zach (Morgan) Bossingham, both of Jamestown; and his step great grandchildren, Braden, Hudson, Kace, Sage and Colt; his brother, Wayne Nix of Ocala, Fl; his sister, Judy (Glen) Mikel of Ocala Fl; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents Earl and Tinella Nix and his brother, Gregory Nix.

A celebration of life will be held for Bill at his family home in Knox on Saturday, May 20, 2023, starting at 1:00 p.m. until the evening. A short remembrance and prayer will be held at 2:00 pm. We welcome his family and friends to enjoy the afternoon with us. www.funeralsbyanderson.com
