Gary Allen Pankratz, 84, of Devils Lake (formerly of Munich), ND, passed on to eternal rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Salem Bible Church in Munich, ND. A gathering and visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with the service following at 2 p.m. Burial will follow the ceremony at the South Salem Cemetery.

Born to John and Sarah (Janzen) Pankratz on Aug. 25, 1938, in Langdon, ND. He grew up near Munich and lived on various farms. He graduated from the Bethany Bible Academy. Following high school, he and Jane Hoffman were united in marriage on Sept. 4, 1960, at the Salem Mennonite Church in Munich, ND. Their first home was in Devils Lake, ND where he worked at the Texaco station. They moved back to Munich where he enjoyed farming for 31 years.

After he retired from farming, he worked various jobs in many locations. Along with farming, he enjoyed fishing and fixing anything he could get his hands on. He appreciated classic cars. Gary was a lifelong member of Salem Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 63 years, Jane, his children Kerwin (Lori) Pankratz of Devils Lake, ND, Sheri (Bob) Landis of Marion, TX, Tim (Darla) Pankratz of Maple Grove, MN, and his grandchildren Kelsey (Tanner) Hilliard of Lakota, ND, and Evan Pankratz of Grove City, OH; Caitlin (Zac) Tart of San Antonio, TX, Brittney (Zack) Gilliam, New Braunfels, TX, and Bryan (Karen) Landis of San Antonio, TX; Lucas and Landon Pankratz, both of Maple Grove, MN, and great-grandchildren Lydia and Harper Hilliard and Emma and Will Gilliam.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harvey Pankratz, and son Brad Pankratz.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
