Collin Schneider

Our beloved Collin Robert Schneider, 25, of Devils Lake, passed away on Sept. 17, 2026. Our hearts are broken by his absence, and we take comfort in our faith that he is at peace in God’s loving arms.

Collin was born on December 21, 2000, on the winter solstice, during a North Dakota blizzard in Fargo. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Elementary School and Central Middle School before graduating from Devils Lake High School in 2019. He loved playing football and being part of a team. Some of his favorite moments were spent on the field, surrounded by teammates and friends. Quick, strong and tough, he gave everything he had to his team. He enjoyed watching football, listening to music, lifting weights and running. Working out provided him both a challenge and a sense of peace.

Collin’s father and grandfather taught him the value of hard work. He carried that lesson throughout his life. He spent countless hours on the family farm and ranch, working in the field, tending cattle and sharing the work with his dad, uncle, grandpa and cousins. He also worked in construction, concrete, and at Trail King in Fargo, where he helped build custom trailers. He took pride in working with his hands and in the connections that work gave him to the farming life he knew so well.

Collin loved spending time with his family and friends and always made everyone laugh. He especially cherished his time with his siblings and cousins. Some of his happiest memories were made camping, laughing and sharing adventures with them. Whether they were doing something special or simply spending time together, being close to the people he loved was important to him. To his family, Collin was so much more than a son and brother. He was a piece of their hearts.

Collin had a tender heart and a gift for noticing when someone needed kindness. If a person was hurting, he would listen. If they needed help, he would offer whatever he could, even when he had little to spare. He truly would have given you the shirt off his back. His compassion and generosity are among the many things his family will always be proudest of.

Collin had the very best smile and the most endearing laugh. Laughter came easily to him, and he shared it freely with his fun loving sense of humor. He could make someone feel welcome, cared for and a little less alone simply by being himself. The memories of his smile, laughter, personality, the time spent together, and all the little moments we shared will be treasured forever.

Collin’s faith in God was deeply meaningful to him and an important part of who he was that he carried with him until his death. He lived that faith through his empathy, his generosity and the care he showed others. Despite the struggles he dealt with in this world, he was always quick to remind us of his continued faith. We take comfort knowing that faith was with him until the very last moments in his life.

To know Collin was to know someone who brought his own kind of light into the lives of those around him. He was a beloved son, brother, friend and much more to many people. Though his time here was far too short, the love he gave, the kindness he shared, the faith he carried, the memories he created, and the lives he touched leave a legacy that will remain with us forever. He will be forever loved, forever missed and forever remembered. We find solace and consolation in knowing that this goodbye is not forever and look forward to being together in eternity.
