Myrtle Anderson, 92 of Devils Lake, ND formally of Webster, ND, died peacefully March 19, 2023 at Towner County Living Center of Cando.

Celebration of Life will be held May 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ramsey County Events Center, rural Devils Lake – with a meal to follow.

Burial will be June 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the ND Veterans Cemetery – rural Mandan.

Myrtle Ione Swart was born Nov. 4, 1930, to Ralph and Dorothy Myers Swart, Heaton, ND. She was raised on the farm south of Heaton with her six siblings.

After WWII ended, she married CW (Bill) Anderson in Bismarck, ND on Nov. 4, 1947. They lived in several towns before settling in Webster, ND, in 1952 where they would raise their six children and call home for the next 66 years.

During the summer, she loved her flowers, large garden and the finches and humming birds. The winters were filled with working on projects with dad which included crocheting, knitting, quilting, and ice fishing. They enjoyed having the grandkids visit the fish house.

They also did a lot of traveling throughout the entire United States including several mystery trips with the Good Neighbor Club. The highlights of their traveling, was a trip to Germany in 1972, an Alaskan Cruise in 2003 and a trip to Austria in 2012.

Mom was busy throughout the years with bowling, Eastern Star and the VFW 756 Auxiliary holding many offices on the local and district levels. She was President of the Auxiliary in 1976 and 2005-2007. In 2006, she was named President of the Year.

She will forever be missed by her family: Gail (Gary) Frederick of Warwick, ND; Pat (Bob) Johnson of Aberdeen, SD; Glen (Vickie) Anderson of Devils Lake, ND; Ted (Darlene) Anderson of Hamilton, ND; Janet (Dennis) Hansen and Elaine (Ed) Dosch both of Devils Lake, ND. Also 14 grandchildren, 4 step- grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 1 step- great grandson; sister-in-law Mercedes Swart and many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband of 72 years Bill in 2020, great grand children Colton Swanson and Brianna Kelly, granddaughter in-law Jennifer Swanson, all of her siblings and in laws.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Towner County Living Center for the exceptional care of Mom over the last 16 months she was there. You are the BEST!
