Allen K. Olson was born on March 6, 1953 in Devils Lake, ND. He passed away on Dec. 12, 2025, at Sunnyside Hospice Care in Gilbert, AZ. Allen graduated from Devils Lake Central High School and NDSU, Fargo. Allen married Karen Ziegler Olson on July 19, 1975, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Devils Lake.

Allen spent his early career years as a County Agent for Trail and Sargent Counties. He then moved to the banking field with Farm Credit Services in Devils Lake and Finley, ND. He and his family moved to Harvey, ND, in 1988 where Allen was employed with the National Bank until 1997 when he joined the Investment Center of America with offices in Harvey until his retirement in 2012. Allen and Karen moved to Bismarck in 2021 and enjoyed their time there and in Chandler, AZ.

Allen enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and camping. But his most loved hobby were his horses. He spent many happy hours on his farmstead south of Harvey, riding, feeding and grooming his “pets.”

Allen was active in the First Lutheran Church of Harvey. He enjoyed having coffee with “the boys” who gathered most mornings at the church.

Allen loved his family and was so proud of his two daughters, Kathryn (Andy) Munion of Fargo and Jennifer (Brandon) Lemer of Bismarck and his sons-in-law. His two grandchildren, Jillian and Tate Lemer, were his delight and he loved watching them in all of their activities and playing board games of any kind with them. His Farkle games were legendary.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; Maurice A. Olson and Carol Joyce (Tungland) Olson, all of Devils Lake.

A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Harvey on March 15, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share memories of Allen with them at his Memorial Service.
