St. Olaf Lutheran Church is located at the corner of 6th Street and 6th Avenue NE in Devils Lake, ND. They are having special events and worship starting on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22.

A lenten meal will be prepared and served by the youth of the parish (and their families) who are planning to go to New Orleans in the summer of 2024 to attend the ELCA World Youth Gathering.

The offering from the Lenten Meals will go toward their expenses for this trip.

We have 7 youths from Devils Lake going to New Orleans, Louisiana in the summer of 2024. They will experience worshiping God at a whole different level. Each day is different with a range of fun, learning, and service projects.

The schedule is as follows:

Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22 – meal at 6 p.m. and Holden Prayer at 7 p.m.

March 1 – meal at 6 p.m. and Holden Prayer at 7 p.m.

March 8 – meal at 6 p.m. and Holden Prayer at 7 p.m.

March 15 – meal at 6 p.m. and Holden Prayer at 7 p.m.

March 22 – meal at 6 p.m. and Holden Prayer at 7 p.m.

March 29 – meal at 6 p.m. and Holden Prayer at 7 p.m.

Holy Week begins April 2 with Palm Sunday and continues to Good Friday, April 7 with special worship planned throughout that week, culminating with Easter Sunday: sunrise service at 7 a.m. at the St. Olaf Retreat Center on Creel Bay and Easter Sunday morning Worship at St. Olaf at 9:30 a.m.

+Special Bible Study for the Sundays of Lent will also be offered at St. Olaf as we watch and discuss the dramatic movie, “The Chosen” together with Pastor Lori. Starting this coming Sunday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. at St. Olaf. and each Sunday of Lent, skipping, of course, Easter Sunday, and finishing up the next Sunday, April 16.
