Dear Editor & Devils Lake Leader,

You are invited to an opportunity. March 9 is the big day! Each year we attempt to build leaders within the walls of Devils Lake High School. We work with our students to build resiliency, advocacy, a growth mindset, and a strong understanding of the word “yet.”  We are looking for MANY more speakers this year for each of the time slots. The more speakers, the smaller the groups. This is your opportunity to build the next generation of leaders!

Sessions will last 40 minutes. We have 8 different times you may speak. You may choose to speak during just one or any number of the sessions all the way to eight sessions. Ideas for your presentation may include how you ventured into your current position or career, how you became a business owner, or something else related to your business/career. You may wish to present on some of the key terms mentioned above: growth mindset, resiliency, advocacy, the word yet, or being a leader. You could look to tackle a topic such as organizational skills, time-management, people who helped you achieve your goals, how you give back to the community, or the educational background needed to do your job. If you have a rags to riches story, a story about how you faced adversity and succeeded, or any other unique story beneficial to our future leaders you wish to share.

Please email or call: ryan.hanson@dlschools.org or 662-1200 to schedule your time(s) or ask questions. I would gladly listen to ideas you may have or answer any of your questions. Please feel free to share this information with others you believe would have a positive impact as a speaker for our students. We want as many presenters/choices as possible.

Available session times will be as follows (you may speak at as many as you like):

AM Sessions: 8:45-9:25 9:30-10:10 10:15-10:55 11:00-11:40

PM Sessions: 12:30-1:10 1:15-1:55 2:00-2:40 2:45-3:25

I look forward to hearing from you! Thank you for your consideration. Please respond no later than February 24. Hope your 2023 is off to a great start!

Sincerely,

Ryan Hanson, Principal,

Devils Lake High School
