Members of the LACTC (Devils Lake) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter attended the 58th annual North Dakota FBLA State Leadership Conference March 30 – April 1, 2025. Over 60 FBLA chapters from across the state participated in this conference, connecting approximately 1,300 middle and high school students to test business skills against their peers from around the state.

The LACTC Chapter brought five students including Allison Halle, Betty Fang, Meagan Halle, Rock Fang, and Zyler Charboneau. (pictured) The most exciting aspect of the conference is the competitive events program. Students have the opportunity to test the business skills they’ve learned in the classroom in a variety of individual, team, and chapter events. The LACTC Chapter was very successful bringing home a number of awards including:

Allison Halle – LACTC Who’s Who Award; Contributor Level BAA

Betty Fang – 2nd Place – Word Processing (national qualifier); LACTC Who’s Who Award; Leader Level BAA

Meagan Halle – 2nd Place – Computer Applications (national qualifier); LACTC Who’s Who Award; Leader Level BAA

Rock Fang – 4th Place – Business Management; 5th Place – Business Communication; Leaders Level BAA

Zyler Charboneau – 7th Place – Cybersecurity; 9th Place – Economics; Contributor Level BAA

Betty Fang & Meagan Halle (Team) – 2nd Place, Fall LifeSmarts Challenge

The Who’s Who award honors exemplary FBLA members who have made outstanding contributions to their local chapter. The Business Achievement Awards (BAA) are an individual achievement award program for FBLA High School members. These students have the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills, expand their business knowledge, contribute to their local communities, and earn recognition by immersing themselves in their school and communities. There are four levels of BAAs each increasing in difficulty: Contributor, Leader, Advocate, and Capstone.

Betty and Meagan have both qualified for the FBLA National Leadership Conference that takes place in Anaheim, CA at the end of June.
