Fashion can be many things. It can be unique, trendy, or just something that makes you happy. Maddock’s Jillian Conradie, of the newly opened women’s clothing store Camora said she loves to make “other women feel beautiful.”
The store had its grand opening on Nov. 2. The store name Camora has its own unique backstory. Conradie said she wanted a name that sounded nice, pretty, and easy to pronounce. The “C” comes from her nephews Cooper and Cash. The “Am” comes from her niece Amelia. The “Ora” comes from her niece Nora.
Conradie also operates a salon and boutique that cater to women’s clientele but she said she “has always had a passion for fashion.”
She opened an online store in 2019 and five years later, opened the storefront.
The store has everything from dressy fashion to casual to leisure wear. Shoes and jewelry are also sold there. Beauty items are also available.
For clothing, the majority of the sizes are small to 3X.
“Those are hard to find in smaller boutiques,” Conradie said. “I pride myself in size inclusivity.”
Conradie added “I feel more fulfilled when I get to see women try outfits on and when they come out of the dressing room they smile. It makes me feel happy.”
With Small Business Saturday coming up, she said they’re going to have some specials going on as well as some giveaways.
Camora’s hours of operation are Tuesday to Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are located at 419 4th Ave NE in downtown.
