The Ramsey County Commission held a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 18. Here are some highlights from that meeting:

Maddie Cummings, Lake Region Public Library director, spoke about the library. She said programs and visitors were up compared to 2023. Specifically, it more than tripled. The biggest goal for 2025 is to appoint a children’s librarian position, “I’m confident that this position will be nothing but an asset to our library and our community,” she said.

Ramsey County Sheriff Bryan Lang spoke on fishermen parking on County Road 4 south of Doyon. The fishermen park on both sides of the roads causing hazards and obstructions for farm vehicles to get through. “We’ve been getting called out there three, four times a week,” Lang said. “I’m just surprised someone hasn’t gotten hurt there yet with farm equipment going through.” Cars that have parked there have been issued citations and fishermen have been told their cars would be towed. Lang said he would like to have more “no fishing from the road” signs added. The commission approved to add “No parking and no fishing signs” on the road.
