Oberon school sees 90% of their students improve scores in ELA on the state assessment and graduates 7 eighth graders
It was a very special day at the Oberon school on Friday May 24th as seven eighth graders donned their ribbon skirts and shirts for their graduation ceremony.
The families and friends of the graduates filled the bleachers in the Oberon gym along with the staff and students grade K-7.
Mr. Jordan Brown , Superintendent/principal welcomed everyone along with Dr. Wayne Trottier the administrative consultant.
The program also included speeches by the two teachers who taught this class: Mr. Moriel and Ms. Christine. It was very clear how much these students meant to the two teachers as Mr. Moriel paused a few times to compose himself having been brought to tears as he spoke.
The valedictorian Marlaila Leftbear and salutatorian Waylon Smith addressed their classmates in each of their speeches.
Quilts were provided by the school for family members to give to their graduate and a lunch of cupcakes and punch was enjoyed by all in attendance.
Summer school is now in session for a couple of weeks.
