The Ramsey County Commission had a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 16. Here are some highlights from that meeting.
Roger Gunderson, maintenance supervisor, said the courthouse windows had been fixed due to damage by rain last year. Regarding the AED (automated external defibrillators) machines in the building, Gunderson stated he placed them a little higher above the federal guidelines. “We agreed we should have them high so that small children couldn’t get into them,” he said. The board disagreed with Gunderson’s placement of the AED machines and asked him to place them according to the Americans with Disabilities Act which says the height to reach the handle of an AED in a public place should be no more than 48 inches high. While the commission did say that some parts of the 1958 building were not up to ADA code, they emphasized that Gunderson should bring the AED machines down to the ADA requirements.
Chris Jaeger, of emergency management, said he wanted to purchase some protective equipment, 4 protective vests and carriers, for the Lake Region UAS (unmanned aircraft system) team for $5000 which the board approved.
The board approved the multihazard mitigation plan.
The Edmore Senior Citizen Center has dissolved. A fund check will come from them.

The commission passed a resolution fully supporting the Game and Fish Department for Aquatic Nuisance Awareness Week, which is the first week of May.
