Journal sports photographer Noah Clooten got to see some of his expert camerawork on the big screen. On December 30, “Boys of Summer,” a documentary on the Wahpeton Legion Post 20 baseball team had its premiere at the Bremer Bank Theatre in Wahpeton. Clooten was a cameraman on the film and helped film some of the shots including using his drone camera. Clooten worked alongside producers Robert Wanek Jr. and Madison Nelson-Gira in the summer of 2023 to tell the story of the successful Legion baseball team and how they won the state championship. “It was lots of games that took up a lot of my summer,” Clooten said. “I loved it. The team loved the cameras following them.”

It was a monumental task for Clooten as he filmed over 100 hours of footage to help tell this story. Though it took many hours and days and much effort to put the project together, Clooten loved the experience.

“I was happy to be a part of it. Thank you to Robert for bringing the rookie and letting me help film it.”

“Boys of Summer” will be available to stream on YouTube on the 3 Borders Sports Network.
