Cankdeska Cikana Community College (CCCC) will be hosting the screening of the film, Imagining the Indian: The Fight Against Native American Mascoting immediately followed by a panel discussion featuring renowned Indigenous activists and scholars: Suzan Harjo and Ben West. Eric Rogness will be the moderator. This award-winning film explores the impact of stereotyping and the marginalization of Native history on Native people, showcases the oppositional discourse on the misappropriation of Native culture, and demands the change of offensive images, monuments, statues, team names, etc. across this country. Join us for this critically important discussion!
This will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with lunch to follow in the CCCC Amphitheatre, Fort Totten, ND.
