Thorwald & Betsy Fossen Olson Family Reunion
There is no doubt, summertime is reunion time in many places throughout the United States, especially in North Dakota.
Clyde All School Reunion
On July 22, 2023 a Clyde All School Reunion was held in the KC Hall in Devils Lake, ND. Forty one people were in attendance. The last graduating class was the class of 1965.
Olson Family Reunion
On the weekend of July 14 – 16 a family reunion of the late Thorwald and Betsy Fossen Olson, formerly of Maddock, ND, was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Devils Lake.
Granddaughter Patty (Sylling) Altringer’s family was in charge of registering the more than 200 attendees.
Families came from New York, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, Washington and North and South Dakota. A noon taco bar and evening roast beef dinner were served.
Afternoon activities included a cornhole contest, BINGO and guessing how many M&Ms? A silent auction of 77 items was conducted throughout the day. The coolers full of lefse seemed to be the BIG item!
A short program followed dinner with musical numbers performed by grand, great-grand and great, great grandchildren of Thorwald and Betsy.
Prizes were given to the oldest in attendance, Marvin Olson; the youngest – Eva Mary; who came the farthest, Monica Olson’s family; married the longest, Duane & Shirley Olson (64 years) and the first to register, Darcy and Dorothea Olson.
The day closed with dancing provided by Paul Leier’s Big Hammer Karaoke. A great time was held by everyone!
