Mimi Taylor, our beloved mother, grandma and sister, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2020, in Lino Lakes, MN. She had just turned 84. Marjolaine (Mimi Tweeten) Taylor was born in Devils Lake, ND, to Marguerite and Genard Tweeten on June 21, 1936. She spent her youth in Oberon, ND, graduating from Oberon High School in 1954. She went on to complete her nursing degree at Mercy School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse until her retirement. She married Alan Taylor in 1958 in Devils Lake, ND. They spent their early years raising their family in various areas of North Dakota including Wishek, Grafton and Grand Forks, moving back to Devils Lake in 1976 to take over ownership of the Coast to Coast/Ace hardware store. Mimi was instrumental in the operation of that business as well as continuing her nursing career. Mimi moved to the Twin Cities in 1987 to be closer to her children and became a member of the Coon Rapids Methodist Church. Mimi finished her career working as a psychiatric nurse at the State Hospital in Anoka, MN, a job she loved. Following her retirement, she spent her time doing what she loved best, taking care of and spending time with her family and friends whom she loved so much. We will never forget the love she showered us with, her fierce loyalty and the lessons she has taught us over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by; her four loving children, Stacey (Jim) Broecker of Lakeland, MN, Brad (Robin) Taylor of Chisago City, MN, Kelly (John) Hoffner of Blaine, MN, and Lora (Chris) Bennett of Madison, WI; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, her adoring siblings, Douglas (Diane) Tweeten and Christie (Jim) Fox; former husband, Alan Taylor; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends she loved dearly.
